The Unnumbered Life

We, humans turn out to be the most ironic creatures the nature ever created. We think we are the kings of the 'new world', masters of technology and time. But in reality, we are clearly slaves to something created by our own 'intelligence'- numbers.
Our lives ridiculously revolve around the numbers on our paychecks, mark sheets, on the price tags of our favorite dress/shirt and especially that on our clock.
The importance of these digits is inevitable but while we are out there busy living for things we created, meanwhile those created by God are the ones being neglected.
The number of rooms in in your house won't make it a home, the people who occupy those rooms will. Your whole class year does not depend on your end of year results but the year-long friendships.
Maybe, it's time to realize that it doesn't matter how many contacts you have in your phone lists, but how many of them will pick up their phones when you're having an emotional crisis at 4 in the morning.
You know, sometimes it's important to remember that the life we are living is not just an activity that goes on. There's no scale to measure if you have lived it to the fullest. You simply shouldn't feel the need to measure it. All you have to do is believe. Believe that there's some stuff in the atmosphere that's not gases or dust and water particles and such. That stuff can only be detected by a blood- pumping device of your body.
You see, those things are joy and happiness and peace. They are scattered all around you (and are free, for a change!) Just reach out and grab them. And yes, this is childish and seems unpractical but ask yourself, What's the harm in trying?
So for once, forget about the countable objects and what you have will be more than enough.
So, I dare you to experience that delight. I dare you to go to a person you love and as non-dramatically and casually as you can, say to them- You are better than any number I've ever met. They probably won't understand. But then, they don't need to understand it. You do.
